The #1 Sunday Times and International Bestseller from 'the most influential public intellectual in the Western world right now' (New York Times)

What are the most valuable things that everyone should know?

Acclaimed clinical psychologist Jordan Peterson has influenced the modern understanding of personality, and now he has become one of the world's most popular public thinkers, with his lectures on topics from the Bible to romantic relationships to mythology drawing tens of millions of viewers. In an era of unprecedented change and polarizing politics, his frank and refreshing message about the value of individual responsibility and ancient wisdom has resonated around the world.

In this book, he provides twelve profound and practical principles for how to live a meaningful life, from setting your house in order before criticising others to comparing yourself to who you were yesterday, not someone else today. Happiness is a pointless goal, he shows us. Instead we must search for meaning, not for its own sake, but as a defence against the suffering that is intrinsic to our existence.

Drawing on vivid examples from the author's clinical practice and personal life, cutting edge psychology and philosophy, and lessons from humanity's oldest myths and stories, 12 Rules for Life offers a deeply rewarding antidote to the chaos in our lives: eternal truths applied to our modern problems.

What an incredible and incitefull book, I t has helped me and my friends to overcome many difficulties. It explains the human condition most apptly. The difference between men and women. The soul and it’s journey And how best to deal with day to day life. This is by far the best and most rewarding book I have ever read. Thank you all so much for your efforts and insights, I am deeply impressed. It would appear we are baby gods, and immortals,on our journey through many lives, returning to the perants after each lesson, to be sent out again and again until we are ready to go out and repeat the cycle of life. I wish you all success in your efforts. Lots of love always, your brother, son, and father.

Amazing book, you really are quite the help man. You’re a deep deep thinker. I have full trust in what you’re saying bro.
  • Yawn

I bought this book and so far I’m 1/3 of the way through it. I can’t do it anymore because it’s so boring. Non-stop babbling on and tangents. This book could have been written in 1/4 of what it is and that would have definitely been quite enough to get the message across. I genuinely can’t stomach any more of it.
  • A must!

    By Michael Keating
The book speaks for itself, there’s only a few thinkers that have the truth you need to hear in these times.
  • Bible Bashing

I feel like I’ve been bashed with a Bible in a not so subtle attempt to proselytise!! While i hold much respect for the authors views on life and human relationships I couldn’t stomach more than 2 hours of his audiobook because of the constant sky daddy references!! Seeking a refund!
  • Profound and timely

Dr Peterson’s messages condensed into 12 chapters that range from how to be a better parent to why we’re a lot closer to lobsters than you would think. Highly recommend it to anyone who is feeling like they need help orientating themselves in life’s chaos.
